The reason why I am not a fan of snow & ice.

So first off let me apologize that I haven’t written in a long time but as we all know college can get pretty busy. I can’t believe I am already done with my first quarter at PUC. I am glad to be done with most of my classes! Ahhah… and what better way to celebrate the end of a quarter then by taking a little adventure. Well it all started when Drew told me that he was going to PUC next quarter but didn’t have a way to get his stuff there. So me being the nice friend I am told him I would drive up to Walla Walla and get his stuff and take him home as well. The plan was working out perfect but I forgot about the fact that it was winter and the weather is not nice this time of year. But Stephanie and I headed off the hill and drove her car to Rio Lindo (Drew and Ricky would drive it to southern California so I didn’t have to drive that far). After dropping her car off, Steph and I headed to Monterey to just hang out and relax. It was so nice to do nothing but sleep in and chill. We went to this cute little Italian restaurant one night and then the next day wondered around cannery row and did some Christmas shopping.

On Saturday we headed to MBA to pick up Ricky. We got there early morning and headed to the beach while we waited for him to be done with church. Now the beach was beautiful but so COLD and really windy. After he was done we headed north, but the weather was really bad that I-5 at Grants Pass was closed so we ended up driving to 101 and staying at my house for the night. We slept in the next morning to make sure the road would be open and we ended up driving up 101 all the way to the cut over to Eugene, OR. It was so amazingly beautiful driving right next to the ocean. Huge waves and snow on the coast…. weirdest sight ever. And of course I drove in the snow where the guy 2 cars in front of me got stuck in the snow… when we finally got on the 5 we were doing good till the sign above the highway said “Chains required for Portland metropolitan area” now thankfully we had chains so we pulled over to the side of the road and went out in the freezing weather and put the chains on.

We were making time even though we could only got 25 mph because of the chains and then all the sudden we hear a weird clicking noise. So of course we pulled over and checked it out and one of the chains had broken. But we didn’t really have much of a choice so we kept driving. We drove all over town trying to find new chains. No chains ANYWHERE!!!!! Well we had reserved a hotel by the airport that was about 10 minutes away so we decided to just drive on. On the way there 2 more chains broke but we made it to the hotel. It was nice to just relax after driving 10 hours that day. We started watching Harry Potter and Steph fell asleep after 30 minutes but I made it almost all the way through but fell asleep also (ahh I am sure you wanted to know every little detail) well the next morning we decided to press on an make it to Walla Walla by that night. Even though the road had been closed the night before the sun had come out and melted some of the ice on the road. The road was icy so the trip was slow but we finally made it that night. It was crazy to see all the cars and trucks on the side of the road that had slid off the road. I was so happy to make it WWU and see everyone. Even though we were there right during finals week it was still nice to see everyone. But unfortunately we had to leave the next morning because another storm was coming in and we had to make it through the Gorge before then so we left pretty much the minute Drew was done with his last final (10:30 am).

No the road trip was fun with 4 people but my car was not big enough for 4 people and all the stuff that Drew had plus our stuff. So we packed the car full and Drew ended up having to send 2 boxes of stuff home. The backseat was packed and half the backseat was full of stuff. And of course me having the shortest legs got stuck in the middle back seat was I got to be super close to Ricky for 10 hours. Now it might seem cozy but after that many hours my hips were hurting so bad. It was very crammed. Pretty much the only person who had room was the driver.

We finally made it home at about 12 am. It was so nice to be home. When we were home we just hung out and I got the privilege to show the boys the lovely town of Eureka, CA. We went to the beach and explored old town and of course I got to cook for them and we made a pie. Pretty much it was a party. I am very happy and grateful that we made it up there to Walla Walla and safely back to California.

On Friday morning we left at 6:30 for Rio where I could barely stay awake and I was driving! But we made it and saw the boys off.

I miss them already and will see them soon! Overall this was an adventure. No other word can describe it. But I do not recommend trying this trip in the middle of the worst winter storms in years! And I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2009!

Life is far too short...

Life is too short. This phrase is almost over used but how often do we actually stop to think that seriously life is too short. As my religion teacher said this morning during class. 20 is too young to die, even 60 is too young to die. The point is no one wants to die and even more importantly no one wants their loved ones or friends to be tragically taken from them without even having the chance to tell them how much they are loved. How often do we take the time to say I love you or even I am glad that you are friend? I know personally I sound sappy if I constantly tell my friends I love them and appreciate how they are always there for me. But why is that? Has western culture shaped us so much that we feel dumb telling someone we care about them? Why is it so hard to say how we really feel? Now you might wonder what has got me thinking? Well this last Saturday night 4 PUC students we killed going down the hill to Safeway. The same trip I took only 3 hours before. I did not know any of the guys personally; I didn’t even really know anybody who was close to them. But this tragedy has got me thinking that life is really too short and we must live our life concerned and companionate for people not only cuz our life is too short but those around us might have an even shorter life. Now I want to tell all my friends at one time that I love them all so much. I wish that all of you were here with me right now but I am proud that you are doing what God has planned for you. I appreciate you guys for always being there for me even if you are not physically with me. Thank you so much I don’t know what I would do without each and every one of you!

A weekend of firsts.

So sorry it has been so long since I have updated you all on my life. When I last talked to you all I had lost my keys and I was worried about them. Well I found them, or should I say my dad found them because they were in his suit jacket. So I know have my keys, but pretty much the week after I found them my nutrition textbook showed up missing. I still haven't found it but I bought a new one online for real cheap so that was nice. Then after the whole lost book incident I lost my ID card (which i have never done before i still have my ID card from Walla Walla) and i ahd to pay $14 to get a new one. So that is my lovely tale about my luck with losing things!

Moving on to more exciting stuff! This weekend was definitely a weekend of first experiences. It was the first time I have driven by myself through crazy bay areas traffic (during rush hour to make it more exciting ;)). If you are wondering why I was driving by myself...its because I went down to MBA this weekend to go camping on the beach with my friend Ricky. Yeah we had been planning this trip for awhile and I was really excited about sleeping on the beach! It sounded really fun and I really was looking forward to being a beach bum for a weekend. Well unfortunatly the weather didn't think this was such a great idea so it rained. All weekend! So my beach camping was changed to sleeping the backseat of my car with our feet in the trunk. It was actually very comfortable i might add. So that was
my first experience sleeping in the backseat/trunk of my car.
Doesn't that look so comfy?

It was amazing to sleep in the car because we were parked right next to the ocean and i feel asleep and woke up to the drown of the ocean waves. It was such a peaceful sound and i could have listened to it all night.
On Friday night we went to Santa Cruz and just walked to streets. But the catch was it was Halloween which ment the streets were packed with people dressed up in costumes ranging from the generic halloween costumes to some you had to ask what the heck were they thinking. it was fun though to just walk and not really have an adjenda.
On saturday we went to Santa Cruz Boardwalk and just walked all around and of course played in the water. And under the boardwalk there were all these sea lions which were just hanging out under the peir on the support beams right above the water. Needless to say a lot of pictures were taken of this attraction...hehe....

SEA LIONSSSSS!!!!!!!!

I am the only one who looks really wet here!

Beautiful, wet Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk.

but yeah it was very wet and even more windy on the boardwalk but i am just glad i brought a water proff jacket with me. Otherwise i would have been very wet!
This is what happens when you have a camera in a car.
The view from the car.
I could stand up in the backseat!

The weekend was very fun and i am wishing i could go back to the beach already. But i am now back at lovely little PUC where it is college days this weekend so there will be a lot of little high schoolers wandering the campus. But other than my exciting weekend that did not go as planned but went even better not a lot has been going on with me. Classes are ok. Still meeting people, but over all its good. I miss all my friends a lot but i am glad they are doing good.
I love you all and miss you!

So this past week has been crazy! first off i moved into the dorm at PUC and started my first year here. It ok so far. Kinda miss people a lot and its harder to meet people here but i know that God has a reason for me to be here. So to add to my fun experience here i lost my keys the first day of class. On the ring was my room, house, mialbox, and car keys and the keychain i got for graduation from the Jutzy. It was a very sad day and i am praying that they will show up soon. I must appologize that i haven't written in a long time. I will try to update you all on my life more often. So not a lot of interesting stuff is going on, but yeah i am jsut letting God lead my life and I am learning to trust Him.
I joined the Business Club here and we are going camping in yosemite in 2 weeks which will be fun. That is if i end up going, but we'll see. but yeah as for that not a lot is going on over in this part of the world.
I love you all and will update you if anything more happens.

Off to school once more.....

So sorry all that it has taken me forever to update you on my life. Hopefully I will get better once school starts. But I can't promise anything. As my summer draws to close it makes me sad and excited at the same time. I am sad that my amazing summer is over and i will have to drive 4 hours to the beach instead of 10 minutes and I will have to do homework. But I am so excited to start a new year and meet new friends and over all grow as I experience new things.... So I leave on Wednesday morning to drive to PUC. It will be an adventure because I have never drove to PUC from my house so i don't quit know the way. I definitely be getting directions. So I just got back from coffee this morning (where i got a free coffee i might add because i drink so much) and now i am really out of it so forgive me if I ramble. So anyways..... school will be good...i hope. If not i have made up my mind to go to Humboldt State if i don't like PUC (that is the university at home). But i think i will like PUC. So as for what i have been up to since i updated you all on my life....mmm....well my family and I took a trip to Disneyland where we spent a week down south. Our hotel was right across the street from the park. All we had to do was walk across the street and down a walkway and we were there. It was amazing! We arrived there on Sabbath afternoon and just stayed around the hotel.

Then on Sunday we headed for the beach after a free breakfast from a vacation club we are now a part of. I must say the beaches in Southern California are over rated. But i was told that we went to a bad beach anyways. We visited the lovely town of Long Beach and did some looking around in the shops and found a cute little cupcake store and then walked around on the beach for a little bit then headed back to the hotel. Monday was our first day at Disneyland! Kelsey and Drew met us there and we had an amazing time with 5 minute waits for most of the rides. After being on our feet for 8 hours and screaming our heads on the rides we were dead tired when the park closed for the night. It was so much fun to see Drew and Kelsey. I miss them both so much and wish that they would go to PUC. Tuesday was a repeat of Monday except it was a little slower pace since we were exhausted from the day before. Overall the family vacation to Disneyland was so amazing!

The day after we got home from Disneyland. My parents drove me over to Lake Shasta to visit with Julie. I was planning on driving myself but my parents offered and i could not refuse since we left at 7:30 am i would rather sleep
. I spent the day swimming in the amazing lake and i even tried my hand at wake boarding. I didn't get up but it was still really fun to try it. After eating amazing food and a game of rummy with Julie, Kirk and their dad i was take back to the dock to meet up with my parents who would take me home. overall it was so much fun to spend time with Julie. I miss her tons and it was good to see her! And get tan at the same time ;)

This is Julie, not me! She is a pro!

After church my family head to Patrick's Point State Park where we walked on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful nature that God created for us. I was standing on a bluff overlooking the ocean as the fog was rolling in and cause
d me to stop and stand in awe. God created this for me! I could have stayed there all day just reflecting on things and simply sitting in peace but it was getting late so we headed back. Overall i can say that there is no place on earth that i find so fascinating or beautiful as the North Coast and the forest around them. It was truly breathtaking. Unfortunately my mom's battery on her camera died so no pictures were taken of the outing but i will always remember that peaceful feeling. Sorry that this is so long, but i have been doing a lot this summer. I will put pictures up if i can figure out how to do that. But i am almost done so stick with a little bit longer. So i am pretty much all packed up minus my clothes. it is weird to be off to school again. I did love the relaxed, carefree summer i had, but i love fall even more so i can't wait! I will keep you all posted on my life after school starts and i hit some button my keyboard and it changed the font and i don't know how to change it back. oops..... so yeah i miss every one so much! hope you all are doing good!
Until next time....

Ok so I was under a lot of pressure to set up a blog....so here I rambling on. So it is a beautiful day here and I just resting (because that is what you do on sabbath afternoons after lunch). It has been a very long couple of days. My family took a short trip down to the bay area on Thursday because my mom had training for her work. Steph and I spent all of Friday in San Fransisco... it was very exciting and we spent most of the day shopping. :)....but the problem with this fun trip was the fact that we all got very little sleep so were very tired when we got home. All in all it was fun. Next weekend my family and some of my cousins' friends are off to water slides in Redding so that will be very fun! Can't wait and don't worry I will tell you all how much fun I had!
Until next time.....

Hey All!
So I am testing this Blog thing out! Let us see how well I keep up with it. But yeah i just got home from a wonderful time at campmeeting and now I am preparing to enjoy the rest of my summer! I enjoyed this campmeeting a lot because I finally was able to relax and learn. It was a very memorable time and I can't wait till next year.
